Going to an SM mall is not just simply about shopping and dining. Families and friends go to the malls and experience leisure activities together.
To keep patrons coming back to the malls, SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc. (SMLEI), the lifestyle and entertainment company under SM, is continuously creating and innovating services for the Filipino community. With their new attractions, SMLEI promotes bonding activities through entertainment and leisure facilities that are fun, world-class, and yet, affordable.
“SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. is the lifestyle arm of SM geared to encourage entertainment and leisure as part of the Filipino’s everyday routine. It is one-stop-shop inspired by and created for the patron’s ease of use, to enhance and complement the lifestyle of every Filipino,” says Edgar Tejerero, president of SMLEI.
SMLEI handles brands such as Mall of Asia Arena, SM Cinema, Director’s Club Cinema, IMAX Theatre, SM Tickets, e-Plus Tap to Pay, and Exploreum.
SM Cinema prides itself as the biggest market share holder in the Philippines for cinemas and exhibition. It continues to cater to moviegoers with Hollywood films, Filipino movies, and film festivals. Snack Time complements the movie watching experience. It is the sole food concession unit of SM Cinema and recently the ticket-snack combo. Patrons can purchase their tickets and snacks in a single transaction.
From July 2 to 8, SM Cinema hosted the World Premieres Film Festival with international movies according to the Film Development Council of the Philippines. Moviegoers were able to watch the special screenings in theatres at SM North Edsa, SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.
The Director’s Club Cinema offers a butler service and whole new set of menu from Snack Time. To watch in the club cinema doesn’t require membership. SMLEI PR and Social Manager for Corporate Marketing Stephanie Henares says, “The Director’s Club Cinema is open to all movie fans. They can even schedule a private viewing of their favorite films if they want to.”Â

It has a 15,000-seating capacity. The Arena is also the first venue in Southeast Asia to develop corporate boxes on its third floor. Its exclusive Premier Cafe will soon open. Arise–The Repeat concert.“We hope to bring the same excitement to the South,” shared Henares “ so we are already constructing a smaller Arena and it will rise soon adjacent to SM Cebu.”
